ABOUT THE COLLECTION

The world famous Dave Friedman Photographic Collection is an archive of approximately 600,000 Black and White negatives, Color transparencies, and Color negatives that cover the world of motor racing from 1957 to 1982. The collection also houses one of the world's finest collections of rare racing programs, race records, and research books covering all aspects of the world of automobile racing. The main focus of the collection is the period from 1960 to 1972 although their are many negatives that cover earlier and later racing events. This outstanding collection can fill most of your needs whether it is a custom print for your board room wall, photographs and records to properly reconstruct your historic racing car, or photographs for your upcoming book or magazine project.

One of our many specialties is reconstructing an individual driver's or a company's racing history. Most racing companies and racing circuits decided, for whatever reason, that saving their precious history throughout the years was not a very high priority. Once these companies and circuits realized what they were missing, they turned to us to help recreate the important past endeavors that did not exist in their archives. Some of the distinguished companies whose racing history we have helped rebuild, with photographs and race results, are All American Racers, Penske Racing, Shelby American, McLaren Cars, and Laguna Seca Raceway.

Over the past years, many of our best known driver's personnel photographic collections have disappeared in various ways and for numerous reasons. We have received many phone calls from these former drivers asking if we could reconstruct a photographic history of their racing careers. The answer has always been yes and among our many satisfied clients are: Dan Gurney, Roger Penske, Augie Pabst, Bob Bondurant, Lothar Motschenbacher, Joe Buzzetta, Ed Leslie, Allen Grant, Dan Gerber, and George Follmer.

We have also provided numerous photographs for museum displays at the Shelby American Collection, The Collier Museum, The Rosso-Bianco Collection, The Penske Museum, The Smithsonian, The Donnington Collection, and the Competition Automotive Group.

As most of you know, Dave Friedman is widely known for his critically acclaimed photographic racing histories. He has had 25+ books published so far and has four more books in various stages of preparation and production. Please refer to the section marked "Books For Sale" for all of the current information regarding future publication dates and author signed books available through this site. Dave has also illustrated six other books for various authors. Among these books are Andretti, Scarab, The Cobra-Ferrari Wars, California Screamin, Corvette Racers, and Porsche 356 & RS Spyders.
